Increasingly, athletes are integrating mental skills development into their training in order to achieve greater performance than is possible by training the body alone. Sport Psychology plays an essential role assisting the athlete in areas of relaxation, concentration, anxiety management, arousal control, support networks, competition routines and confidence. In addition, coaches also benefit enormously from Psychology and mental skills programs that address areas of team dynamics, leadership training, mentoring, conflict resolution, communication skills and the coach-athlete relationship. Sport Psychology is not just for the elite athlete! Mental skills training is just as relevant for the "weekend warrior" and developing amateur athlete, and in addition, we have had success applying Sport Psychology principles in the corporate environment. Your body will go wherever your mind will take it! |
“We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms — to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.” - Viktor Frankl |
